Paris possesses a rare quality: sometimes a silhouette, a gesture, or a detail of a passerby’s clothing is enough to know that you are looking at this city and no other. Tourists photograph the Eiffel Tower and Notre-Dame, yet the real Paris lives in the intonation of its streets, in glances, in the way people move, in light, and in fleeting scenes.

This city has a strong character and demands a response. If a person possesses individuality, one day they will recognise themselves in Paris. That is why, when I photograph Paris, I capture not only the city, but also my own reflection within it.
